Who this course is for

  • You are engaged or planning a wedding or commitment ceremony
  • You are helping a family member plan and pay
  • You want a celebration that does not leave you in debt

What you will be able to do

  • Set a wedding number from money saved, monthly saving, and confirmed gifts, hold back a buffer, and agree on a shared top three.
  • Find how many guests a budget can hold using fixed and per guest costs, sort guests into tiers, and put every order and payment date on one calendar.
  • Check a vendor contract for eight key terms and choose a way to pay that keeps your rights (credit card dispute limits and the FTC Cooling Off Rule).
  • Plan and hold a money talk with a partner using the CFPB before, during, and after steps, and share accounts, debts, and credit before combining money.
  • Pay for a wedding without new debt (pay as you go, card only if paid in full, read pay later fees) and list the steps after the wedding (Social Security, W-4, address).
